4th Annual

CSU Young Males of Color Conference

On behalf of the CSU Young Males of Color Consortium, we invite you to attend our 4th Annual Conference. The goal of the Consortium is to create systemic changes in higher education and improve outcomes for Black, Latinx, Asian Pacific Islander, and Native American males.

The 4th Annual Conference is designed to engage and support practitioners through collaborations and sessions that offer insight into strategies to increase access and success for young men of color. Simultaneously, the conference will feature a student track with workshops, seminars, and speakers focused on character and professional development. Students will also get the opportunity to engage and connect with peers and professionals from around the CSU, state, and nation, with a focus on advancing equity and excellence.

If you plan to park at the SDSU campus, paid parking is available in Parking Structure 3 (directional signage will direct you to the conference location).  Daily parking is $9.00.  You may purchase a permit online, at a parking kiosk, or via the university’s portal. For more information and to purchase a virtual permit, please click SDSU Parking Permits.

The use of public transportation between the hotel and SDSU is a convenient alternative option. The MTS Trolley offers trolley transportation from the SDSU Aztec Student Union to the Doubletree and Marriott hotels, along with other stops (including the Fashion Valley). The cost of the trolley is $2.50/one-way or $6.00/day. Please click Trolley Schedule to view the schedule and all stops.  If you choose to travel via the trolley, please review the Green Line schedule. Here are a few instructions to help you along the way:
  1. We recommend that you purchase a Pronto Card by downloading the app to your phone. This will allow you to avoid searching for a kiosk at the station to purchase a ticket.
  2. Purchase an all-day pass for $6. This will allow you to ride unlimited times in a 24-hour period. If you plan to ride only to and from the campus once per day, you may want to purchase a one-way ticket ($2.50).
  3. The Marriott is located at the Rio Vista stop (18-minute ride from SDSU), and the Doubletree is located at the Hazard Center stop (21-minute ride from SDSU).
  4. When traveling to the university, exit at the SDSU stop. The conference will be held in the Aztec Student Union (3-story building to your right).
  5. Please visit “How to Ride” for additional helpful information.
Automobile: If you are traveling via automobile, you must obtain a daily parking permit to park in any SDSU campus parking lots. Please secure a permit from the daily parking permit machine.
